I love quotes as it gives me strength whenever I feel unmotivated and what else is great than having Japanese quotes with English translation? As they said, sharing is caring.
Enjoy reading!
What a curious power words have.

言わぬが花
Some things are better left unsaid
I am a very straightforward person. I don’t mince my words and I found it unnecessary to do so before until a friend told me that she felt attacked when I voiced my opinion during her presentation in the class. I was perplexed. In my defence, the moment I enter a situation that required me to be your opponent or judge, it doesn’t matter whether you’re friends or family, whatever that need to be said is going to be said. And I thought everyone else thinks the same way. Big mistake. So. for now, I’m trying to improve my crappy people skills by being more perceptive and pay a great deal of attention to my wording to avoid being across as a jerk, big bully meanie. And if it doesn’t work? *zippedmouthemoji*
知らぬが仏
What you don’t know won’t hurt you
‘What you don’t know won’t hurt you’ or ‘Ignorance is bliss’ is one of the quotes that I hate (because I detest ignorant people) but I still feel that a little bit of it is necessary.
If you don’t want a man unhappy politically, don’t give him two sides to a question to worry him; give him one. Better yet, give him none. Let him forget there is such a thing as war. If the government is inefficient, top-heavy, and tax-mad, better it be all those than that people worry over it. Peace, Montag. Give the people contests they win by remembering the words to more popular songs or the names of state capitals or how much corn Iowa grew last year. Cram them full of noncombustible data, chock them so damned full of ‘facts’ they feel stuffed, but absolutely ‘brilliant’ with information. Then they’ll feel they’re thinking, they’ll get a sense of motion without moving. And they’ll be happy, because facts of that sort don’t change.
RAY BRADBURY, FAHRENHEIT 451
Because sometimes, a little bit of not knowing everything is needed. Since it is impossible to know everything because you cannot know there is nothing you do not know because you do not know it.
I think it’s better to not know certain things. It gives the world an extra bit of mystery, which is important to us as human beings.

明けない夜はない
There is always light behind the clouds.
When I feel like giving up, a little bit reminder that these will pass – the hardships, the suffering, would always get me back on the track.
死なないのであれば、強くなるだけだ
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
Life doesn’t get easier or more forgiving, we get stronger and more resilient.

I do agree with the first quote “some things are better left unsaid”. It’s okay to be outspoken but please say it at the right time with the right choice of words (not referring to you haha). If the things that we want to say to others would make him feel down/demotivated it’s better not to say it at all. Sooner or later he will definitely know it on his own.
I believe in tough love. but I do agree that i need to tone down my words a little bit
Some things are better left unsaid
Actually, I do have the same mind as you. I believe if we were to be an opponent to help our friends/family, we really should act like one. No hard feelings should be involved. But things like ‘your work is the worst in the class’ should be left unsaid lah hihi.
What you don’t know won’t hurt you
I don’t like this quote too as for me, I want to know everything even if it’ll hurt me. I hate being in the dark more.

Everything happens for a reason. This quote is the key to my strength and perseverance in life.
hahaha. I’m not that cruel lol. But I think another reason why my words felt harsher compared to others is because of my resting bitch face
